Bobby Curtola Interview, 1986

On August 10, 1986, Bobby Curtola opened for Roy Orbison at The Legends Of Rock’n’ Roll at EXPO 86. In this wide-ranging interview he talks career, family, and the future of radio and records. We remember the scene at his 1962 Vancouver appearance… and we share some laughs about his arrival at the show.

In the interview we talk about a movie project based on his life. It didn’t happen at the time, but here’s a great opportunity to honour Canada’s first homegrown teen idol. Bobby owned all his music, and I know sons Chris and Michael would be supportive. All it takes is money and imagination. Hey – I’m available if they need someone to play me!
