Frosty Forst C-FUN Promo Bloopers, 1962

Bryan “Frosty” Forst was an amazing radio talent. He worked late on every show, always looking to bring the best to his audience. Back in the Sixties, many recording artists cut promotional spots for disc jockeys. Sometimes they didn’t always get the names right… in this case reading “Forst” as “Forest”!

We worked together at C-FUN before he left to go to CKNW, originally as afternoon drive host and later mornings where he commanded the biggest ratings in the city.

Frosty (with fellow C-FUN jock Dave McCormick, above) was one of the last of his kind. Radio for the most part has abandoned personality in favour of cheaper “cookie cutter” announcers. Oh, we lived in the best of times.
