104.3… A Shore Thing

Shore 104 FM has  switched frequencies with KAFE in Bellingham. Shore 104 is now at 104.3 and KAFE has moved to 104.1.  The U.S. – Canada agreement culminated in this photo opportunity for both stations at the Peace Arch border crossing.  It took a lot of give and take, but the end result is a new  frequency for both outlets… and a 25% power increase for Roy Hennessy and the gang at Shore 104.

I just heard from my daughter Sheri, who lives  in Bellingham, and she  is a regular KAFE listener. She loves the station because everything is “live” as opposed to “canned ” or “robotic”. Here is her note to me: “I tuned in as KAFE became 104.1… they had Shore on the minute before. They exchanged gifts too. The Canadian broadcasters requested Fruit of the Loom underwear  and the American broadcasters wanted Coffee Crisp chocolate bars and ketchup flavored potato chips.”  You gotta love it.
