On May 12th at the Children’s Hospital British Columbia Premier Gordon Campbell announced that the Government of British Columbia was going to support the C.H.I.L.D. Foundation, my pet charity, with a grant of $12 million to help with research into Crohn’s Disease, liver disease and other intestinal disorders. This money is to be spent across Canada with various labs sharing research – a great concept that should lead to a cure.

The whole idea has been driven by Grace McCarthy, founder of the C.H.I.L.D. Foundation. As a director I was asked if I would emcee the event. This is my pet charity as I lost our son Jeff to Crohn’s when he was 33. I personally thanked the Premier and his government for their vision in dedicating money to this most worthwhile research.
