Beatles at Vancouver International Airport, 1964

These are interesting color photographs taken at Vancouver International Airport on August 22, 1964. You see the Beatles on the tarmac wearing sunglasses. Notice the cameras the boys have with them. I wonder where those photos are?

This four prop Constellation airplane transported the Beatles around Canada and the U.S.

The beautiful Jackie DeShannon, one of the opening acts for this tour which included the Righteous Brothers, the Exciters and Elvis’ former bass player Bill Black and his Combo. Jackie wrote hits like Dum Dum for Brenda Lee, Bette Davis Eyes for Kim Carnes and had her own string of hits including What the World Needs Now, Put A Little Love In Your Heart and many more.

These historic photos are by photographer Larry Marion from the book The Lost Beatles Photographs published by Harper/Collins. Click the cover for more!
