Back in 1982 when this photo was taken, the iPhone was still 25 years in the future! In those days, we used something called a “telephone” and that round black thing I’m holding was called a “record”… remember kids, iTunes was still almost 30 years away!

It all seems so dated now. I notice in the photo my hair was growing wildly. Oh, how the times have changed.

Deejays in Toronto did not operate their own equipment, but we on the West Coast did. The most interesting aspect of this photo: we communicated with listeners and we were “live”. Imagine that… a real “live” person on the radio, and someone you could relate to.

When I look at this image, with few exceptions the age of the radio deejay is over, sadly. We had joy, we had fun… we had seasons in the sun!
