Celebrating 60… On Radio & TV

tsn_300

It was 60 years ago yesterday that I signed on with my radio show for the first time. To celebrate I was invited to appear with Bro Jake Edwards and David Pratt on their TSN 1040 morning sports show. I like their new premises, very modern and up to date. We reflected on my career highlights (and lowlights) over the six decades, but I can honestly state that I loved radio then and I love radio today. Thanks to the two hosts for having me as a guest.

I want to also thank Stirling Faux for allowing me to be a guest on his morning show on CISL 650. I can recall with good emotions my years doing that morning show, some of the best times I ever spent on radio. Stirling is also a radio survivor, having performed for over 40 years. Unfortunately, I really believe we are the last of our kind. Tom Petty correctly framed the plight of the deejay in his song The Last Deejay:

Also thanks to Jody Vance for saluting my 60 years on the air on City-TV‘s Breakfast Television and to Steve Darling and Sophie Lui for having me on the Global TV Morning News. It was like a homecoming for me having appeared each Wednesday with a celebrity interview. It gave me a chance to say hello to Mark Madryga and others I got to work with and know in the 7½ years I appeared on the show.  Both hosts were gracious and we had an interesting discussion about the past, the present and the future. It is wonderful to be acknowledged by your peers.
