Chuck Davis’ Vancouver Book Is Out

It was an emotional evening at the Vancouver Public Library for the launch of Chuck Davis’ book The History Of Metropolitan Vancouver. It sold out the first run of 5,000 which is almost unheard of. The people who dedicated time to completing his unfinished book were on hand to salute one of Vancouver’s favourite people. Alan Garr and Rick Antonson, who helped author the last part of his work and Harbour Publishing publisher/owner Howard White were all on hand to pay tribute.

Many media friends such as Lynne McNamara, Dal Richards, and Cam Cathcart were also on hand. It was also an emotional moment when Chuck’s widow Edna and daughter Stephanie took the dais to thank all those who participated in completing the masterpiece. This will be the definitive book on the history of Vancouver for years to come. The second printing is underway and should be available in a matter of days. Pick up a copy.
