Happy New Year!

Christmas 2014 has come and gone. I had a wonderful break as I hope you did. Great response to my voice overs for Michael Buble’s Christmas in New York, his fourth annual Christmas special. A most memorable show which featured the one and only Barbra Streisand. The ratings outdid last year on both NBC and CBC. Did you miss it? Thanks to CBC-TV for this:

On my Sunday January 4th CISL 650 show I paid tribute to Elvis Presley. He would have turned 80 on January 8th! Elvis made an incredible impact on all of us. My favorite Elvis memory is having him tie me up to a shower rod before his 1957 Empire Stadium show… and then throwing the key in the shower. Who could possibly forget a memory like that? Here’s my favourite photo with Elvis. I still have the Teddy Bear!

Also worthy of note that the Maestro, Dal Richards, turned 97 on January 4th. Carole and I were invited to his house party with friends John Mackie and Fred Lee, Christopher Gaze, Malcolm Parry, Kay Ackles, and many more. He is still active and maybe that is partly the reason he is so healthy. Happy 97th Dal!

I can’t wait until January 14th when Bryan Adams appears in Vancouver for the first time in years. Hope to see you there! See the complete tour list here. Bryan’s new CD The Tracks of My Years digs into his past and covers a series of great classic rockers with his unique touch. A great CD if you are into real rock and roll. He is without doubt one of the best rockers ever.

I have been invited to the third annual Canada/Snowbird Fest in California. Show producer Bette King phoned me and I accepted. The Fest is on two days only, February 28th and March 1st at the UC Riverside campus on Frank Sinatra Drive in Palm Desert. I will do some emcee work and tell my story. I just read the first draft of my biography by great writer Robin Brunet. It contains my many encounters with celebrities over six decades. Now to find the right publisher!
