Jack Cullen – One Of A Kind

This is my mentor as he looked back in 1974 almost 30 years before his death. Jack always had that “devil may care” attitude and it shows in his eyes.  He was truly one of the great radio communicators.  He was a deejay, never an announcer. His hero was Steve Allen who in his early radio days created “theatre of the mind” and was most creative when inventing stuff as the show went along. There were no scripts, just his irreverence for just about anything.  He inspired me and many others to gravitate towards radio. I had the honor of working on his show when he would take vacations in a period in my career where I did not have a regular radio show by choice. I miss him.
