Global News’ John Daly was one of the last of the true investigative reporters left on the Vancouver media scene. He was the reporter who exposed the abuse of intersection cameras by ICBC bureaucrats. He also was lead reporter on the scandal that toppled former BC premier Glen Clark. And the list goes on and on…

Local media folk gathered recently at Mahony & Sons restaurant on False Creek to bid farewell to John. Among those celebrating: former judge Wally Oppal, former Vancouver police chief Jim Chu, retired Global TV weatherman Wayne Cox, Global TV’s Chris Gailus, Squire Barnes, Aaron McArthur, Lynn Colliar, Steve Darling, and Anne Drewa.

Also spotted: former CKWX anchor Joanna Mileos, CKNW Talk Host Linda Steele, CTV’s Mike McCardell, videographer Sharron Bates and celebrity columnist Catherine Barr.
