Johnny Tillotson – Poetry In Motion

Johnny Tillotson‘s “Poetry In Motion” moves to the very top of the C-FUNtastic Fifty this week in 1960!

Cadence Records owner Archie Bleyer, the force behind much of the success of The Everly Brothers, Andy Williams, the Chordettes and many other artists, was so impressed with Johnny that he signed him to the label. “Poetry In Motion” was a million-seller. Johnny followed it up with “Without You” (1961) and “It Keeps Right On A-Hurtin’” (1962). He jumped to MGM for another smash hit, “Talk Back Trembling Lips” (1963).

Johnny entertained us here at EXPO 86‘s Legends Of Rock’n’Roll along with another favourite, Bobby Vee. That’s where we recorded this interview.

Johnny is still making music and his latest, “Back In Love With You” features a track with old friend Wink Martindale! Order the CD and see what’s new with Johnny at johnnytillotson.com
