Once A Good Guy…

I just came across these color photos from 1961 and 1962. The first photo was taken shortly after returning to Vancouver and CKWX in 1961. That is the CKWX control room in all its glory! I can’t believe how thin I was… but basic training in the U.S. Army will do it to you every time.

This shot of my back (always one of my best features) was taken in the C-FUN studios on West 4th Avenue in 1962. I had just taken over from Dave McCormick as Program Director and on air deejay.  I couldn’t help notice the big “C” that looks like it was clipped into my hair. I bet it was for my wife Carole!  Kidding aside, it is just the way the crown of my hairline appeared.

For me these are special memories when radio was informative and entertaining. It was also  a joy to work with proven professionals. I was always proud to have been a C-FUN Good Guy and to this day I proudly wear a Good Guy sweater.
