Pat O’Day on KISM/Bellingham, May 2016

Anytime you get a chance to hear Pat O’Day on the radio you jump at it!

Pat is a legend in the Pacific Northwest for anybody who grew up listening to KJR in the Sixties and Seventies. He was a fixture at the Seafair hydroplane races for 45 years, and if you went to a concert or dance in Seattle Pat was probably involved.

In recent months he appeared in Bellingham for a screening of I Am What I Play, a documentary which involved Pat and a small group of deejays from rock radio’s golden era.

KISM’s Brad & John travelled to Roche Harbor near Pat’s San Juan Island home a couple of weeks ago for this great interview. Nice to see this generation seeking the true history of rock and roll radio in its heyday.

John Reynolds says: “Pat is one our favorite guests. We’ve had the pleasure of interviewing many music legends and very few tell a story as well as Pat. Pat O’Day is a Northwest treasure. He’s the personified history of Seattle Rock & Roll.”
