The Beach Boys At 50

I just finished listening to That’s Why God Made The Radio from The Beach Boys 50th anniversary disc. That rich harmony lives on. They have come together to celebrate one of the great success stories of contemporary music. The band opened a 60 city tour in Tucson, Arizona this week.

It has been decades since surviving group members Brian Wilson, Mike Love and Al Jardine have harmonized, recorded or toured. The tour so far does not include Vancouver, which I find surprising. I emceed their last  show here with Bryan Adams a few summers ago.

How do they sound? Do  not fret, their appearance on the Grammy Awards in February proved they still have it. The worlds of music and radio have changed drastically but most of us still have an appreciation of quality and memories of good times listening to The Beach Boys over the decades.

Their music is part of the soundtrack of our lives. Give a listen.
