This shot with Paul Anka was taken backstage at the River Rock Showroom before Paul’s recent concert. It was great seeing Paul again.

His new book My Way: An Autobiography is a fascinating look into the journey of this Canadian icon. Paul’s recall is incredible and the stories truthful. You just can’t put it down.

I particularly enjoyed the section where he arrived in Vancouver with Buddy Knox, Eddie Cochran, The Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, Frankie Lymon, Fats Domino, Clyde McPhatter, and Chuck Berry. All featured in this 1957 show for a mere three bucks! I emceed the show and between acts interviewed everyone who appeared.  Here’s a snippet of my interview with Paul:

Paul also has a duets album out with special guests Michael Bublé, George Benson, Michael McDonald, Dolly Parton, Michael Jackson, Leon Russell, Gloria Estefan, Willie Nelson, Patti LaBelle, Chris Botti, Celine Dion, Tom Jones, Peter Cetera and Frank Sinatra. What a lineup!
