I treasure this autographed photo with Chris Isaak, taken 10 years ago when Chris came to Vancouver for the PNE/Playland‘s Summer Concert Series. I presented him with this iconic portrait of me with Elvis, taken at his 1957 Empire Stadium concert. Thanks to ace photographer Kevin Statham for this one!

Chris had just recorded “Beyond The Sun”, a collection of songs recorded by Elvis, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis. “Beyond The Sun” was recorded at the legendary Sun Records studio in Memphis, and includes some pop classics: “Ring of Fire”, “Great Balls of Fire”, “It’s Now or Never”, “I Walk the Line” and many more.

The 10th Anniversary Sun Records vinyl edition of “Beyond The Sun” is now available at Everyday Music, 115 East Magnolia in Bellingham, a short drive down I-5 from Vancouver.
