When my brother Bill and I were growing up we joined Air Cadets. The photo was taken in 1950. 135 Squadron was in the #2 Supply Depot under the Burrard Bridge, in what is now Vanier Park. We both had ambitions to be pilots at the time. A radio opportunity came along for me and I pursued this career while my brother went down a different road and became President of CP Air Holidays. All in all it taught us discipline, something sadly lacking in much of today’s youth.
