“One Night” from Elvis and Fats Domino

Here’s the flip side of “I Got Stung”: “One Night” by Elvis Presley! The song was written by New Orleans producer Dave Bartholomew and his wife Pearl King. Bartholomew discovered Fats Domino.

The original version was called “One Night of Sin”. Elvis recorded “One Night” with the original lyrics “One night of sin is what I’m now paying for”, but record label RCA and manager Colonel Tom Parker thought they were too suggestive. Elvis changed the lyrics to “One night with you is what I’m now praying for.”

Fats recorded “One Night” with the original lyrics on his 1961 album “Let the Four Winds Blow”, but the single failed to chart. Here’s the Fats Domino version:
