A nice article in the Vancouver Sun over the weekend. My thanks to Mark Leiren-Young for the write-up:
“The Arts Club brings back another local favourite when The Red Rock Diner flicks on the open sign at the Granville Island Stage June 19 to August 2; tickets and info at artsclub.com, a musical inspired by the early days of rock ‘n’ roll and deejay Red Robinson, who is still flattered by his onstage incarnation.”
This time the role of the Redhead is played by Neil Minor, who played a soda jerk in the original show. Neil is a fabulous talent and able to do just about anything: sing, dance and act. I can hardly wait for the opening curtain. The musical was written by Dean Regan (A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline). Michael Buble’s steady portrayal of an Elvis-like character in the musical revue brought him great attention before his great launch shortly after. Don’t miss it. If you want fun this is the address for it.
