B.B. King At The “Red”

Every once in a while you get to meet a genuine icon  Such was the situation last weekend at the Red Robinson Show Theatre with B.B. King on stage for two nights.  Here is a man who has won 15 Grammy Awards, the U.S. Presidential medal of honor and so many other awards. He is also the genuine article. At the meet-and-greet after both his shows he took time to talk for a few minutes with each person who was presented to him.

This is a photo of Carole and myself at the meet-and-greet. Each night it was a joy to behold with one of the best R&B bands in the world blowing up a storm. B.B. and his guitar Lucille still can get the licks in. His son Willie King asked me on the second night to not only intro the show but after the band’s short opening to go back on and introduce the King of the Blues. What an honor.
