Buddy Guy and Jonny Lang appeared at the Red Robinson Show Theatre Friday night. What a great double bill. Grammy award winning songwriter, singer, and master blues guitar player Jonny Lang opened the evening. He received a wonderful standing ovation at the end of his set. It was one of the longest sessions of applause I have witnessed in the theatre in years.

Second on the doubleheader was blues legend Buddy Guy. The enthusiastic crowd enjoyed every minute of his performance. I congratulated Buddy on receiving a Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts Award. The annual presentations will take place between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. He is in special company: Dustin Hoffman, Led  Zeppelin and David Letterman are also being honored. Buddy is the same  relaxed man he has always been, with a great sense of humor and love of life. He is now 76 years of age, but like a good wine he only gets better with time.
