Many may not be aware that Robin Williams‘ comic inspiration was Jonathan Winters. Robin was an improv comic genius, as was Winters because they ran with no script and usually ad-libbed everything. Jonathan was one of the first. They appeared together when Robin arranged for Jonathan to appear on his TV series Mork and Mindy. Jonathan was introduced as Ork from Zork, a visitor from Mork’s planet. It created one of the most memorable performances in the world of comedy.

I had the pleasure of working with Jonathan on a series of TV commercials for The Bay. He was a humble and warm human being who would spend hours searching out Native art and sculptures. He was an artist who had his work displayed at the Lincoln Centre and other prestigious galleries.
