Three Dog Night at the “Red”

Wonderful night with the Three Dog Night band. This photo shows the entire band and the two main guys. On the far left in the photo is Danny Hutton and the man second from the right is Cory Wells. In 1967 Danny created the idea of a three man vocalist group with a full rock and roll band. The original group included Danny, Cory and Chuck Negron. The group has had a long and successful list of hits with songs like Joy To The World, Eli’s Coming, An Old Fashioned Love Song, and Harry Nilsson’s One.

Dean Hill from Rock 101 joined me on stage to help “Celebrate” the music of Three Dog Night

One of their favorite song writers was Hoyt Axton who wrote Joy and another big Three Dog Night hit, Never Been To Spain. They had 21 hit singles, 11 Top Ten hits, and 12 consecutive gold albums. In 2002 they worked with the London Symphony Orchestra to great acclaim. In 2004 they celebrated their 35th year together with a major hits collection. They continue to record and tour with 80 dates scheduled for this year alone. One of the best shows at the Red Robinson Show Theatre in years.
