Twelve years ago Carole and I and Michael Godin started what is now called RPM — Radio Performers Membership. We started gathering at Brother’s restaurant in Gastown and moved around to different locations over the years including Planet Hollywood and the Bayshore.
In those days each facility requested a guaranteed menu and parking was a problem. A few years ago Ron Toigo suggested we use his White Spot at Georgia and Cardero. Where else downtown are you going to find free parking? We have been there twice a year ever since. Jim Howe graciously supplies the audio equipment and RPM has no membership fees.
Attendance has been growing steadily — over 90 showed up April 30 at the restaurant. We shared stories about our careers and enjoyed the friendships and memories. Here is a small sample of some of the personalities in attendance:
